Tom Ford Lipstick Review

|Tom Ford Lip Color Lipsticks - Selfridges|

I recently purchase the Tom Ford Lip Color in the colour 'Coco Ravish'. Seeing as I had some birthday money and I had been eyeing up these lipsticks for so long, I decided to splash out and treat myself. This has very quickly become my favourite lipstick & I thought I would do a quick review on it for you!

So, for £37, naturally I had pretty high expectations for this lipstick, as I'm sure anyone would when spending close to £40 on a lipstick. Personally, so far it has lived up to my expectations and then some, heres why...

I will start off with the packaging, I mean I don't really have to say a lot, you can see for yourself in the pictures, it's fricking gorgeous!! I really love the gold and deep brown together I think it looks so chic and expensive (probably because it was!), so you're definitely getting your money's worth in the packing department. It is kind of on the heavy side for a lipstick, but I don't find this to be a problem at all, it was just a surprise because I was so used to holding lipsticks in think plastic packing.
I'm not one to obsess over having branding on a products, however I do really like that it has 'TF' engraved into the top of the lid, it is pretty subtle and not in your face at all.

Onto my thoughts on the bullet it's self (before using). Again, I really liked that it had 'TF' engraved into the lipstick, a nice little touch that I was so sad about losing when I used it! It correlated nicely with the packing and was a nice touch.
I was slightly disappointed with the size of the bullet as it seems to be a little shorter than the majority of lipsticks that I own, such as the MAC ones, but only slightly, so I only hoped it would make up for this in it's application.

Now, the bit you have been waiting for i'm sure, the colour and application. Obviously I had tested the colour on the back of my hand in store before purchasing the lipstick, and absolutely loved it, it was my ideal shade, something I would get a lot of wear out of, and for the money I paid for this, rightly so! It is a really beautiful nudey brown shade with the right amount of pink tones to it. It makes the perfect everyday shade that also works just as well as a more glamorous evening shade.
The lipstick applies really well to the lips and is so soft and buttery and feels really moisturising on the lips. It isn't one of those lipsticks that you have to apply loads of to get a nice even coat, it just glides on the lips and applies evenly every time with a single swipe.

The longevity of the lipstick is fantastic, it really exceeded my expectations when it came to how long it lasts! I can apply this lipstick in the morning before getting on with my day, and towards the end of the day, without re-application, you can still see the colour on my lips, maybe not as perfect as it was when applied, but it is definitely still there, and that is a whole day which includes eating and drinking.
The real test came when I applied this during my normal make up application, forgetting that I always brush my teeth after applying my make-up, so obviously I brushed my teeth and the lipstick didn't budge, the sheen was definitely dulled down, but the colour was most definitely still there, which in my eyes is pretty impressive and really showed how well this lipstick stays on the lips!

A pretty impressive review right? This is hands down my favourite lipstick at the moment & I am definitely going to get my hands on some other colours when I have the money. I would definitely recommend these lipsticks and this colour to anyone who is looking to invest in a good over all day-to night lipstick.

Have you tried any of the Tom Ford lipsticks, if so what colours? Leave recommendations below!!

Super Simple Jumpsuit

Another holiday outfit for you here.
This one is super chilled and super simple, one for roaming around in the evening, however I could have very easily dressed it up for a dinner with a nice pair of heels and a clutch bag & maybe a good lippy!

Of course, I paired it with my Stan Smith trainers, besides the fact that I love these trainers, I just think the white works so well with the navy jumpsuit and I think whenever wearing this jumpsuit casually (by that I mean not dressing it up) I would definitely always reach for a pair of white trainers.
Like you have read in previous posts, I quite like a tomboyish edge to an outfit, and I think that shows in this, however the fit of the jumpsuit and the zip down front; allowing you to have as much chest showing as you like, maintains the femininity, which is really important, for me anyway!

What do you think? What shoes would you pair this with?

FaceB4 Review

I was recently sent a package from MediaHubb and along with some other products (which I will review at some point) I received these FaceB4 Products. I got the Antibacterial Face Wash and the Antibacterial Serum, both of which I have been using now for just over a week. I feel like I have been using them long enough to review them for you, as I have really seen a change in my skin whilst using these products. But before I begin I want to say thank you to the girls at MediaHubb for sending these products to me!!

FaceB4 Antibacterial Face Wash: As you can see from the picture this face wash is combined of both a cleanser & a toner, which is great if you are lazy like myself, as it cuts two whole steps out of my skin care routine, by putting the cleanser & toner into the face wash I don't have to do all of these things separately which makes my skincare routine so much quicker!
The face wash has a dual pump where both the cleanser and the toner are pumped from different bottles but come out together as a foam. I really liked how the foam felt on my face, it is super light and  super gentle so it doesn't irritate my skin at all. Most face washes make my skin super tight after I have rinsed them off, but this one doesn't, which was a nice surprise, because I cant tell you how much I hate that feeling!!
The cool thing about this face was is that in contains Salicylic acid which aids in removing impurities, therefore reducing any spots, blemishes or redness, which is always a winner. After using the face wash, my skin feels so clean and refreshed and more hydrated than it does when using other face washes. I started using this just after my holiday & I think with the amount of sun cream and moisturiser I had shoved on my face in that week of being away this was the perfect face wash to start using, it feels like it has really grabbed everything out of my pores and left me with such a clean face!

FaceB4 Antibacterial Serum: Step two in this routine is this serum, which I  apply once my face is completely dry and before I apply my moisturiser. Again this is also an antibacterial product, thus leaving your face feeling clean and working to prevent spots and other facial nasties!
You only need to use one pump, I found that a small amount goes a long way which is ideal as it means the product lasts longer. The serum is a white creamy consistency, but again this feels really nice on the face, and not heavy or thick at all. The serum is enriched with vitamins A, B, B5 and E which helps to moisturise, sooth and calm your skin.
I follow this serum with my regular Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream moisturiser to complete the skincare routine.

Overall thoughts: Seeing as I have relatively good skin in general, I have only been using this once a day (in the evening). I have seen such a difference in my skin since using both of these products. I have had no dryness on my face whats so ever, it feels so hydrated and so clean & this is only a week and a few days in so i'm pretty impressed so far.
I don't tend to get a lot of spots unless it is 'that time of the month' which funnily enough, it was for the first week of using the products (sorry for the tmi!), and during this time I am more prone to getting spots on the lower part of my face, however in the whole time I have been using the FaceB4 products I have literally had ONE spot and it was so small & on my chin, so i'm putting it down to hormones!!
So in all honestly I cannot say a bad word about these products, they have definitely improved my skin, it feels a million times cleaner and hydrated than it has in a long time, the texture of my skin feels a lot more even and smoother, so i'm pretty darn happy with the results so far, considering this is only just over a week into my use of the FaceB4 products.

I will more than definitely be continuing my use of these products and I would definitely recommend them to anyone suffering with dry, red or blemish prone skin & even if you have fairly good skin like myself, I would still recommend it, to keep your skin feeling clean and to begin the process in protecting your skin from the bacteria that causes spots!

Simply Cool

This is part 3 of my holiday outfits & probably one of my favourites. For me this is a super simple, but super cool outfit.

I like mixing casual pieces with smarter pieces because it creates a more tomboyish 'I just threw this on' kind of look.
I kept to a super simple colour palette and allowed my shoes to be the main focus and add a little dash of colour to the outfit.

Being abroad this outfit wasn't something that was going to make me too hot or sweaty, the shirt is super thin, so a perfect holiday shirt, I even wore it down to the pool over my bikini a couple of times.
I kept my make-up really simple as well, keeping with the whole simple vibe I had going on with the outfit. I slicked my hair back into a low bun and wore my thick black framed Quay Australia sunnies (not pictured) to finish the outfit off and make it look really sleek and chic.

Holiday Beauty Go To's

I've decided that I want to slowly start introducing more Beauty to my blog, doing reviews, sharing my favourite products with you and such.
For a while now i've been a little bit beauty obsessed, I've bought more beauty products in the last year than I have in my life, so I thought seeing as I share my love for fashion with you, It's only right to share my new found love for beauty with you also.

Do tell me if this is a good idea or not? Do you want to see beauty on the blog?

**Disclaimer - I am in no means a MUA or a beauty pro, everything I say is my own opinions and just my general knowledge and understanding of the products. I have worked in a beauty/make-up heavy environment, so I have gained a lot of knowledge through that, however these are and always will be (in feature posts) just my honest thoughts an opinions.**

I'm going to start my beauty posts off with this one. When I go away, I don't wear a lot of make up, but in the evenings when I go for dinner, sometime I want to glam myself up a little, and on this holiday it was my 21st birthday, so i definitely wanted to make an effort!
So I am sharing with you my favourite holiday beauty products!

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream: This for me was an essential on holiday! It came in handy on the plane as the air in planes can more often than not completely mess with your face and dehydrate your skin, so I applied a tin layer of this as a mask for the flight to make sure I didn't end up all gross and flakey when I got off the plane. It's safe to say that using it as a mask worked, my skin wasn't dry nor did it feel dehydrated after the flight & it left me with lovely moisturised skin, ready to tan!
I also used this as a lip balm throughout the holiday as the sun can tend to dry my lips a little, but the next main thing I used this for was after I got a little bit burnt & I started to peel, I applied this on the peeling area before bed and by the morning it was gone! I love this cream & I think it will be coming on every holiday with me from now on!

Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream: I have loved this moisturiser for over a year now, so it was no surprise it was coming on holiday with me. I should really get a smaller size though as this was a bit bulky. This is not only a holiday essential for me but it is a life essential. I used this every morning and every night and I didn't have a single dry flaky patch on my face. I cannot say enough about this cream!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser: On holiday I never like to wear foundation, its too heavy and you end up sweating it off & when you tan, your normal foundation colour doesn't match anyway. I decided to take my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser with me on a whim, as I thought it would be nice an lightweight for the evenings, (I would never wear a face of make-up to tan in the day time!) as my face tends to tan a little un-evenly. This was the perfect product to wear in the evening as it is super light and moisturising at the same time. Not only that but it evened out the tan on my face, and even though it was a little lighter than my tan, you couldn't tell because it is only a tinted moisturiser so my tan still kind of showed through, but still giving me a nice dewy yet flawless finish. It was super comfortable to wear in the evening without it feeling like I was sweating it off.

NARS 'Laguna' Bronzing Powder: This is a holiday Holy Grail item!! This is the perfect bronzing powder for anyone with a tan, it just gives an extra healthy glow to your face and really accentuates your tan. I wore this most evenings, even times when I couldn't be bothered to wear a base, I would just put some of this on and I would be glowing! Because it has a bit of a shimmer to it, it is quit highlighting, so I would often put a little of this on my collar bones also!

MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set: Another holiday Holy Grail for me! I don't know if it is just me, but when Im on holiday I like to relax and one thing I do everyday that isn't relaxing is filling in my eyebrows, so this is a no no for me when I go away. But not all is lost, (literally, my eyebrows are more or less blonde & almost invisible) if your eyebrows are shaped well and you don't have loads of stray unplucked hairs, this is what you need if you are as lazy as me and cannot be bothered to fill in your brows. I just used this everyday just to define my brows and make it known that I actually had some. If you have loads of stray hairs you best pluck them, because this shit grabs any hair it touches. It's also waterproof which is an added bonus because you can go swimming without people thinking your eyebrows fell off after diving into the pool!

MAC Lipstick in 'Midimauve': I took probably 8 different lip choices on holiday, which was pretty stupid and not 'light packing' friendly at all, however this was my most reached for lipstick, if not my only reached for lipstick whilst I was away. This is just such an easy colour to wear, it is a 'your lips but better' shade and goes with everything. As you have probably gather from this post already, i'm pretty lazy with my make-up when i'm on holiday, so not having to match up a colour to my outfit or my make up was perfect for me.

Barry M Quick Dry Nail Varnish in 'Pit Stop': I love this colour, I tend to go for quite neutral shades on my nails most of the time anyway, so this was a no brainer for me. I wanted a colour that would look good with any outfit and nothing too 'in your face'. This is a grey with a slight lilac tint to it, so it is still in the neutral palette and like I said it is a go to for me. This is one of those colours that looks really good next to a tan, so I love that about it too! When I read 'quick dry' I assumed it was a bit of a gimmick because how can you make a nail varnish dry any faster? Well, I don't have the answer to that but Barry M clearly do, this dried so fast, you literally paint each nail and by the time you get back to the first nail, it's dry, ready for a second coat! Pretty impressive. I painted my nails the night before I went away; only needing two coats, and they lasted for a whole 2 weeks before starting to chip and look a bit scruffy, which I think is pretty good going!

Barry M Gelly Hi-shine Plumpy Topcoat: It's no secret that i'm a lover of the Barry M Gelly varnishes, they just seem to last longer than normal varnish which is great because I am SO lazy with painting my nails, so when I found a top coat, well lets just say I was pretty bloody happy! This being a 'plumpy' top coat made it look like I had shellac nails which was amazing, definitely a better result than I expected. Again, this lasted so well on my nails and kept for like 2 weeks, which I think is amazing! While I was away, if I ever thought it was wearing thin (i'm incredibly paranoid), I would just apply another coat of this and it would glide on and not look lumpy or over done.

These products where my most used and reached for whilst I was away,  so now I know what to take with me on my next holiday, which means no more over packing beauty products!

What are you holiday go to's?

Nude & Leather

This is the second of my holiday outfits, it is super simple one, but as you all know i'm partial to a simple outfit.

Now we all know, nude/flesh tones work really well with black and I also so think nudes are a perfect summer palette, they are my pastels!

I decided to pair this top with these faux leather shorts, as the top is quite figure hugging and feminine, pairing it with the shorts, keeps this, but also adds a bit of edge to the outfit. The two colours also make a tan more obvious (my main goal on holiday!).

Seeing as both pieces are quite plain and very simple, I wore my new rose gold sliders to add a bit of interest to the outfit. I love these shoes SO much, although they did rub on my big toes a little, so I ended up having to wear plasters every time I wore them, but I can let that go, just because they are so beautiful.

This outfit was a nice evening/dinner outfit, because it is super minimal, the top is really thin so you don't get too hot, and the shorts are not real leather  and are lined with a fake suede material so you don't got all gross and sweaty in them, which is the absolute worst!!

Im also totally rocking the beach hair in the majority of these holiday outfit posts, so please do excuse that!

Holiday Outfits - Part One

If you follow my instagram (sachaxo) then you will have seen that I have recently been away on holiday! My lovely boyfriend took me away to Malta for my 21st birthday.

I decided that whilst I was there I would keep track of some of the outfits I wore. Seeing as the weather in London isn't all that reliable, you can't always get away with showcasing a more summer appropriate wardrobe, so I thought I could just share with you what I do like to wear in the summer.

I have 6 outfits to share with you, so I will stagger them and post them gradually. They wont be posted in the order that I wore them, so my tan will fluctuate in the photos (just to save any confusion)!

So without further ado, here is part 1...

This was kind of a get up and go outfit for me, it is super simple yet still quite cool. I love love love these white boyfriend jeans, and I don't know if it is just me, but white is such a summer colour for me, because it is bright and clean and possibly because it makes your tan stand out more, haha! I also really like that these jeans aren't high waisted, its quite rare for me to wear low waisted jeans & I think they make the outfit look a lot more casual & cool.

I paired the jeans with this navy lace bralet that I picked up from Zara last summer, I hadn't really had the chance to wear this top up until now, so i'm pretty glad it was one of those 'ah just chuck it in the case, maybe i'll wear it, maybe I won't' items. I really like how the navy and the white work together, keeping the outfit super clean and simple.

Obviously I wore my Stan Smiths, because I can't bloody get enough of them! They add a bit more of a boyish, cool vive to the outfit, as i'm not the girliest girl in the world. I didn't want the lace bralet to make the outfit super feminine, so I toned it down by wearing these trainers and I think it worked, making this outfit a really nice balance between feminine and boyish.

Don't you wish all the back drops to my photos could look like this? Makes a nice change to my scruffy white wall in my flat :(
It was super windy on this evening, hense the CRAZY hair, but me and Aaron decided to take a little walk along the (very rocky) beach before dinner & catch the sunset, because its not everyday you get to see sunsets as beautiful as the ones we saw on this holiday.
