Finally I am back, it has been a
while since I have blogged. I’ve been stuck in a bit of a rut lately, telling
myself I'm not good enough and that I don’t have the clothes and things to show
you guys. But after many a pep talk and a bit of inspiration, I have decided
that I want to get somewhere with this and that I need to stop letting my lack
of confidence get in my way! So I am back with a little LFW post for you!!
Last weekend (14th September)
I attended the Vita Gottleib SS15 show at LFW’s Fashion Scout, held at the
Freemasons Hall in Holborn.
The lovely Bee from
‘idressmyselff’ sent me over an invite for the show, as she was unable to
attend.
In the couple of days leading up
to the show I ummed and arred about going because I was so nervous about going
by myself, thinking ‘everyone is going to judge me’, ‘I’m going to look so amateur
next to all these amazing fashionistas’, however after a motivational speech
from my boyfriend and the offer to use his camera I plucked up the courage and
decided to just go and ignore my paranoia!
(I’ve been to LFW a couple of
times before, but the thought of going by myself really bothered me for some
reason.)
Anyway, I went & I
am so glad that I did, and I’m even happier that I went by myself, when I was
there I felt so comfortable and ‘at home’ as lame as that sounds! I actually
got really into it and ended up being the only person in my row of seats
standing up taking pictures for the entire show!
Before the show I had never heard
of Vita Gottleib, until I did a little bit of research. After seeing some
of her pieces I was really excited to see what pieces she had in her SS15
collection.
Here are just a few of the
pictures I took during the show…
So, I didn't manage to get photos of all of the outfits, as I totally forgot to put my camera onto a low shutter speed so some of the pictures came out a little blurry, but you can get a pretty good idea of the collection.
Vita's collection was inspired by the underwater world, which is made clear with the orange coral reef embroidery that is featured in some of the outfits.
The SS15 collection came down the runway beautifully with floatly dresses and ruffled skirts swishing down the runway in sandy tones contrasted with navy shades and a few flashes of orange all tying in to her underwater inspiration.
I feel that the sheer fabrics and lose fitting dresses kept the collection very feminine, whilst at the same time testing the boundaries with some more boxy cuts and strong texture in some of the pieces. This definitely worked in her favour to create a beautifully fun and summery collection.
