The next SS15 collection I have been asked to review is the Bellfield Women's collection.
I have to admit, I had a little giggle when scrolling through the lookbook as it captures the unpredictable British summer perfectly by adding rain coats into the collection, which is also perfect for the festival season!
This collection is very feminine, containing dresses, skirts and coords, however it isn't that 'sickly sweet' kind of feminine, as there are still some boyish/casual street style elements within the collection, which I guess plays on the brands general strength of street style clothing.
The cool colour palette and the simple florals are perfect for the summer months, as well as the light weight, lose fitting fabrics.
The colour palette also allows for layering and outfit building, with many of the pieces being able to work on top of each other.
The range of denim pieces in the collection add a bit more of an edge to the otherwise soft feminine collection. With a range of washes and cuts it really adds a bit of diversity to the collection allowing you to create different styles, by using the wash of the denim as the styling point.
I think the collection is very versitile and somewhat timeless, with their being a range of textures, from denim to waterproof, knits to jersey, thus allowing for some pieces to transition through to the colder months.
